How We Can Help

Personal Care Support
A 30-minute visit can help with simple personal care needs that make the day easier and safer, such as:

  • Help getting dressed or changed for the day
  • Help getting ready for bed
  • Oral care or denture care
  • Brushing hair or light grooming
  • Skin care or applying lotion
  • Standby assistance for safety while moving around
  • Toileting reminders or light assistance

Medication & Wellness Check-In
A short visit can also be used as a daily wellness check, especially for seniors who live alone or whose family wants peace of mind.

  • Medication reminders
  • Making sure the client has water nearby
  • Checking that meals, snacks, or medications are within reach
  • Safety check of the apartment or home
  • Reminder to use walker, cane, or other safety equipment
  • Quick check-in to see how the client is feeling that day

Meals & Daily Living Help
Thirty minutes can make a big difference with basic household and daily routine tasks.

  • Prepare a light breakfast, lunch, or snack
  • Heat up a prepared meal
  • Make coffee or tea
  • Take out trash
  • Light dishes
  • Wipe down kitchen counters
  • Water plants
  • Feed a pet
  • Bring in mail or packages
  • Help organize items for the day

Companionship & Routine Support
Sometimes a short visit is not just about tasks. It is also about connection, routine, and making sure someone is checking in.

  • Friendly conversation
  • Daily encouragement
  • Reading reminders or appointment reminders
  • Help writing down a grocery list
  • Help preparing for an appointment
  • Short walk inside the building or community
  • Support with light exercises or movement reminders

Our 30-minute care visits are designed for seniors who may not need several hours of care, but still need a little extra help each day. Whether it is help getting ready in the morning, a medication reminder, a quick meal, light personal care, or a friendly safety check, our licensed caregivers provide reliable support in a short and convenient visit.

This program is especially helpful for seniors living in senior communities, 55+ apartment complexes, and 55+ mobile home or manufactured home parks, where care can be provided efficiently and consistently within the community.

Service Options

Our Live-in Care is Designed for Your Needs

Live-in care is a wonderful option for individuals who require around-the-clock support but are able to sleep at least five uninterrupted hours each night. In this model, a caregiver lives in the home for 3–4 days at a time, providing continuous care, companionship, and peace of mind without the frequent staff changes that come with shift-based care. Compared to 24/7 care—where multiple caregivers rotate in and out each day—live-in care can often be a more cost-effective solution while still ensuring your loved one receives the highest level of attention and safety. At The Home Care People, we recognize that every family’s needs and financial situation are unique, which is why we offer flexible program options designed to manage costs while tailoring services to the specific care your loved one deserves.

Live-in care is a wonderful option for individuals who need around-the-clock support but are able to sleep at least five uninterrupted hours each night. This type of care provides comfort, companionship, and peace of mind while allowing your loved one to remain safely at home.

In a live-in care model:

  • A caregiver lives in the home for 3–4 days at a time
  • A second caregiver typically rotates in to provide coverage for the remaining days
  • The client receives consistent care from a smaller caregiver team
  • The caregiver provides support throughout the day and is available overnight if needed
  • The client must be able to allow the caregiver at least five uninterrupted hours of sleep each night

Compared to shift-based 24/7 care, live-in care can often be a more cost-effective option while still providing a high level of attention, safety, and support. With fewer caregivers rotating in and out, families often appreciate the added consistency and trust that can develop between the client and caregiver.

24/7 Care

In the home care industry, 24/7 care means clients have continuous support around the clock, provided by trained caregivers. This type of care is designed for individuals who need consistent supervision, assistance, or safety support throughout the day and night.

Typically, 24/7 care is structured with:

  • Two      caregivers covering each day
  • One      caregiver working a 12-hour daytime shift
  • One      caregiver working a 12-hour overnight shift
  • Caregivers      going home at the end of their shift
  • New      staff rotating in to provide continued coverage

Compared to live-in care, where one caregiver stays in the home for 3–4 days at a time before rotating with another caregiver. The benefit of having a in-caregiver is you only have two people managing your care. The cost of living in care is less expensive and if you sleep at night not getting up frequently, this is the better plan and more cost effective.

24/7 care usually involves a larger care team. In most cases, this may include:

  • 5–6      caregivers rotating throughout the week
  • Awake      caregivers during all scheduled shifts
  • More      frequent staff changes than live-in care
  • A      higher level of continuous oversight and support

A key benefit of 24/7 care is that caregivers remain awake and alert for their entire shift. This ensures that if a client needs assistance at any time, especially during the night, help is available immediately.

These two options provide peace of mind for families and consistent, reliable support for clients who need a higher level of attentive care. For seniors who require help throughout the day and night, 24/7 care offers a dependable care model focused on safety, comfort, and immediate assistance. For clients that need help in the daytime and may only need help a few times in the night, live-in care is a wonderful option.

Hourly Care - 2 Hour Shifts or More

Most clients and families don’t always need around-the-clock care or live-in support. Instead, many need help anywhere from just a couple of hours a day to 12 hours, depending on their unique situation. That might mean assisting someone in the morning to start their day with comfort and dignity, or staying overnight so there’s someone there when they wake up in the middle of the night. For families who live together, we can step in during the workday to ensure their loved one stays safe, supported, and never feels alone.

We pride ourselves on being flexible and compassionate, working with your schedule so everyone feels cared for and at ease. No matter the circumstances, we are here to help when you need us most—meeting you and your loved one at life’s most vulnerable points with understanding, consistency, and kindness.

How we can help when you need us most:

  • Morning assistance to help clients get up, dressed, and start their day

  • Evening or overnight support so clients are never alone in the night

  • Daytime companionship to prevent loneliness and promote safety

  • Flexible scheduling from 2 hours a day to 12 hours or more

  • Respite for family members while they work or take needed breaks
